Maggie Shares

I volunteered in Maggie's class on Friday. She was the line leader for the day. When you are a helper, like the line leader, you get a chance to share a story with the class. Then the class gets to retell what they heard--it's a good opportunity for them to listen & talk in front of a group. Maggie shared that her grandma and grandpa will be visiting, that the whole house needs to be clean, and that everyone has to clean their own room. That was relatively mild compared to the next boy's story. He told everyone that his mom had gone to a race track where kids weren't allowed. Then he said that his mom's team had won, and she had won $100. I'm pretty sure I want to be the mom that wants a clean house for her in-laws instead of the mom who wins at the race track!

Maggie & Amy have started watching a new Sunday movie, The Testaments (Amy calls it "the Jesus movie). I explained to them how the earth had changed drastically in America when Christ had died. I hadn't realized how deeply my explanation had sunk in until I found this lesson that Maggie had written for Amy (practically word for word) to give at Family Home Evening:

"When Jesus Christ died
the mountains turned to valleys
the valleys turned to mountains
cities were flooded some
cities were destroyed by
fire. Jesus Christ died
so I could return to
him again in the
name of Jesus Christ
Amen"

Yup, that's pretty much what happened! :) I'm anxious to hear Amy share this lesson.
